How long will I be in therapy?
The length of time in therapy varies greatly from person to person. I will work with you in session to determine whether short or long-term therapy is best for you. I value open communication, and will engage in periodic conversations with you about continuity of care.
Do you take insurance?
I work with my clients and their health insurance companies on an out-of-network basis. Many insurance companies (such as Blue Cross, Aetna, Empire, Oxford, GHI, United, Cigna, etc.) offer out-of-network mental health benefits. Depending on your plan, you may be eligible for 60-80% reimbursement of your session costs. If you are interested in pursuing this option, contact your insurance company and ask them the following set of questions:
- Do I have mental health coverage?
- Do I have out-of-network benefits?
- How many sessions per year are covered?
- Do I have a deductible, and has it been met?
If you decide to use your out-of-network benefits, I will provide you with documentation to submit to your insurance company at the end of each session. Your insurance company may issue a check to you which can cover a percentage of your cost.
Note: One of the benefits of going out-of-network is that your records are not subject to in-network disclosure requirements.
How much do sessions cost? How long is a session?
Please inquire about session fees. Individual sessions are typically 50 minutes in duration, and couples sessions are 60 minutes in duration.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept cash, check, and credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover). Payment is due on the day of your scheduled therapy session.
What steps do I need to take if therapy is not enough, or if a different approach is needed?
If it is necessary for an alternate level of care to be recommended, or should my skill set or areas of expertise not be in accordance with your specific goals, I will provide you with a referral to link you to an appropriate treatment provider without hesitation.
Does my insurance cover online therapy? How much does an online session cost?
Please call your insurance company to determine if Telemental Health services are covered, just as you would for your regular in-person appointments. Some insurances may reimburse their members for out-of-network Telemental Health visits. If so, I will provide you with the necessary documentation needed to file the claim with your insurance company.
