FAQ

How long will I be in therapy?

The length of time in therapy varies from person to person.  I value open communication, and will engage in periodic conversations with you about continuity of care.

Do you take insurance?

I work with clients’ health insurance on an out-of-network basis.  Many insurance companies offer out-of-network mental health benefits.  Depending on your plan, you may be eligible for 60-80% reimbursement of your session costs.  If you are interested in pursuing this option, contact your insurance company and ask them the following set of questions:

  1. Do I have mental health coverage?
  2. Do I have out-of-network benefits?
  3. How many sessions per year are covered?
  4. Do I have a deductible, and has it been met?

If you decide to use your out-of-network benefits, I will provide you with documentation to submit to your insurance company.  Your insurance company may issue a check to you which can cover a percentage of your cost.

How much do sessions cost?  How long is a telehealth or in-person session?

Please inquire about session fees.  Individual sessions are 45-60 minutes in duration.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, check, and credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover).  Payment is due on the day of your scheduled session.

What steps do I need to take if therapy is not enough, or if a different approach is needed?

If it is necessary for an alternate level of care, or should my skill set or areas of expertise not be in accordance with your specific goals, I will provide you with a referral to link you to an appropriate treatment provider.
